Summer 2017 Frequently Asked Questions

Q: We're gone a lot of the summer. Can I still participate?
A: We understand the busy schedules of the summer, and that some kids will not be able to attend the entire summer. We have designed our pricing in a format to assist in working with family schedules. Please contact us at powerhighland@gmail.com with questions.

Q: What should I bring with me to training?
A: For starters, please bring yourself ON TIME to training! We have a tight schedule to keep, and cannot start and end sessions late. Bring water, a snack, and a towel and change of clothes if you need them. Please wear gym-style shoes, and bring your sports-specific shoes as directed by your coach. The Power House has a stocked fridge for pre-and-post workout beverages and snacks, as well as Reebok CrossFit shoes, compression gear, protein powders, supplements, and other recovery products that we endorse to be safe and beneficial additions to our athletes intense regimens.

Q: Where do I get dropped off? Where do I park?
A: The Power House at Highland is located at 617 Snelling Ave S, Suite B. Go to the back side door located off the sidewalk on the north side of the building. Parking can be found on Snelling Ave. in front of the building, or on the side streets of Bayard and Hartford. We have reserved parking spots in the Dominos and O'Halloran parking lots. Please be respectful of our neighbors and do not drop off or wait in the back alley.

Training at St. Paul Academy will be located at the track, Drake Arena, or weight room. Meet your coach at the corresponding designated place indicated by your coach.

Q: I have an injury. Can I still come and will this be taken into account for my training?
A: Yes, we welcome athletes who are dealing with injuries and limitations to their training. ALL our coaches are trained to accomodate injuries and prescribe alternative and corrective exercises for athletes. Please let us know any specific injuries you have or pertinent medical history.

Q: I'm a parent and would like to get involved with training as well. What do you offer?
A: We comprehensive strength & conditioning services for the whole family. Visit our services tab and class schedule to explore what we offer, and stop by to talk to us about your training goals!

Q: Do you offer financial aid?
A: We believe in universal access to our coaching services, and never want to turn away athletes based on financial reasons. That being said, we keep our prices very competitive with other programs in order to provide the most excellent product at a reasonable price. For athletes in need of financial aid, please contact us at powerhighland@gmail.com to receive our application and participate in the interview process. If you are interested in donating to our scholarship fund, we celebrate your decision and please get in touch right away! We also have limited internships on an as-needed basis. Please visit our work opportunities page to see if there are current offerings.

Q: Who can I contact with additional questions?
